Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us about the Standard Size Heating Pad. The primary reason for this warning is because certain diabetes‑related conditions can increase the risk of burns. Key considerations include: - Reduced heat sensitivity - Some individuals with diabetes experience nerve damage (neuropathy), which can make it harder to feel when a heating pad is too hot. This reduced sensation can lead to accidental burns. - Poor circulation- Diabetes can affect blood flow, especially in the extremities. Limited circulation can make the skin more vulnerable to heat‑related injuries and slow the healing process if a burn occurs. Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us. The Sunbeam Standard‑Size Heating Pads are designed so that either side can safely face your skin. The pad provides the same level of heat on both sides, so there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to position it. For safe and consistent heating, please make sure the pad is lying flat and not folded, bunched, or crumpled during use. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via our Contact Us form on our website. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am - 5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Sunbeam® Consumer Care

Thank you for contacting Sunbeam! That's a good question. We do not recommend to use a power inverter with our Sunbeam heating pad since it is meant to be used on direct power sources. If you do so, it will damage the control and the heating pad itself.

This pad pulses on and off, with no pattern to it. It's either using electricity, or it's not. The temperature will vary because it's not constant.
