Thank you for contacting the Sunbeam® brand. We appreciate your interest in our product and we are glad to answer your inquiry. We do not recommend using our heated products or any heat sources near an oxygen machine. As it is a precautionary measure, it may react violently near oxygen tanks. Any heated elements are not allowed near oxygen tanks as a small fire can quickly get out of control. We hope you find this information useful. Have a great day!

Great question! If you are a Paraplegic, Quadriplegic, diabetic, or one insensitive to heat (someone with poor circulation) it is not recommended that you use a Sunbeam heating pad for the following reasons: 1. It is conceivable that a person with delicate skin, who does not have normal sensitivity to heat, could be injured by prolonged exposure to heat or fire if the wiring or cordset was damaged. 2. Normally, persons with these types of disabilities would suffer greater injury than others, and their recovery could be significantly prolonged. For our consumer's safety, we do not recommend our heating pad product be used if you have one of the conditions described above.
