Sunbeam® Steam and Press 2-in-1 Handheld Steamer

If tap water is being used, a high mineral/iron content in the water may be causing the spotting. Also, if vinegar has been used to clean the iron, it may have caused rust/deterioration of the sole plate.
1 year limited warranty; see instruction manual for further details.
  1. When turned on for the first time, your new iron may give off a slight odor for up to ten minutes. This is due to the initial heating of the materials used. It is safe, not detrimental to the performance of the product, and will not recur.
  2. Prior to first use, clean steam vents using the Shot of Steam® feature. After cleaning vents, run iron over an all-cotton cloth to remove any residue.
  3. When not ironing, always have steam dial turned to DRY.
  4. Test the Iron + Steamer on a rag or scrap piece of fabric to make sure there is no staining from initial use.
After the iron has been unplugged and completely cooled, wipe the soleplate with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or vinegar.
The Sunbeam® Steam and Press 2-in-1 Handheld Steamer is available on our website or at any participating retail outlet. They are widely distributed through mass merchants and department stores.

The iron will leave white residue or expel white flakes if there are calcium deposits or starch buildup on the iron. The iron should be cleaned if this occurs.

This means that the iron is in Auto-off Mode, which happens when the iron has been motionless for 30 seconds. If the iron is moved while the light is still blinking, it will stop blinking and heat back to the desired temperature within two minutes.
All of our irons are tested during production, so some of the water we used may remain in the tank. This is perfectly normal.
