Sunbeam Supports with Warmth
The Sunbeam Supports with Warmth campaign donates heated throws to those battling cancer to provide extra warmth, comfort and support. Sometimes a heated throw can give patients added warmth and comfort during difficult times on their cancer journey. The 2014 Sunbeam Supports with Warmth campaign was kicked off October 21, 2014, when Sunbeam® delivered over 200 heated throws to Gilda's Club South Florida, a nonprofit agency named in honor of late comedian Gilda Radner who died of ovarian cancer in 1989 at the age of 42. Throws will be made available to Club members impacted by cancer.
Gilda's Club creates welcoming communities of free support for everyone living with cancer – men, women, teens, and children – along with their caregivers, families, and friends who have been touched by cancer. It is the mission of the Club to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. Their programs are an essential complement to medical care, providing support groups, healthy lifestyle workshops, educational programs, and social activities, all free of charge.
