Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cozy, but not warm I purchased several of these blankets a few weeks ago, for myself and family members. I liked the color selection e.g., gray, maroon, blue, brown. The blankets appeared to be soft and cozy as well. Now, after almost a month, the blankets don't heat up. Even at the highest setting, if they do become warm it's only at a certain part of the blanket, not all over. I really want to take them back. I've seen cheaper blankets, which while not as comfy looking may just do the job. We need blankets that hold heat! I knew it couldn't just be us. Looking at some reviews on this site, I can tell it isn't just our experience with these.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Jack Frost Nipping at our Nose (and Toes) We got this King Size Sunbeam Velvet Plush Heated Blanket less than a year ago as a gift during one of the worst winters in Washington. The blanket worked fine and was so comfy cozy. We plugged it in a couple of weeks ago, as we are beginning to dip near freezing, and the blanket is no longer warming. We went to the Sunbeam website and performed all the troubleshooting tips and tricks and nothing worked, so we unplugged it as indicated. These blankets are too expensive to last less than a year (even if you get it as a gift). I gave this a 2 because although it's not heating it is still soft and not heavy; if it was still working and keeping us warm I would give it an 8 or 9.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good and bad I bought this about a month ago. It works much better than the one it replaced. At least for this one I will not have to go through the agony of returning it 3 times to get one that works. The good part is that it does what it is supposed to do, heat the bed. The bad part is that we need to put a comforter on top so we don't lose the heat. With the plush velvet the comforter slides off! Yes, while the velvet plush is nice to touch it does not play well with other fabrics. It slides off the flannel sheets, the comforter slides off of it. We have tried a variety of fabrics but, nothing seems to work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible I brought a queen size mushroom color electric blanket from fingerhut in December 2016 and by March 2017 it stop working. I feel like I wasted my money. Fingerhut told me to contact Sunbeam which I did they emailed me the address to send it back to but why do I have to pay to ship it back when I already paid once to have it ship to me. It said on the packaging that it has a 5yr warranty so I'm hoping I can still some how get it back to them. Since then ice been on disability with major health issues I lost my brother & uncle this year & a lot of childhood friends last year. It's been ruff but I'm blessed to still be alive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Velvet Plush Blanket I bought this blanket only a few months ago during a sale and bought a throw with it. I just opened the blanket to find that it doesn't even work. I've tried all the trouble shooting and still nothing. I called costumer service only to be talked to like I was an idiot and told the blanket was under warranty and to send it back. So I have to go out of my way to send back a blanket that I spent a lot of money on. Not to mention this is my SECOND velvet plush blanket in less that a year. The other one was out in less than a year. I thought the other one was just faulty so I would buy a second one but yet again no luck with this one. I've always loved sunbeam but I will not be buying another blanket from them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blanket won’t heat. I bought this blanket for me & my husband last winter. It was a horrible winter & the only thing that heated up my bones was to be able to crawl into bed at night & feel all that warmth. It was great last year. Fast forward to this year. It’s starting to get colder so I through my blanket on our bed. Will not heat at all. I stored it how it should be stored & took extremely good care of it. We purchased a king size at Walmart for over $100. I’m sorry but that is WAY to much money to only last one winter. I’m completely fed up with this brand and will be looking to purchase me & my kids blankets from a different brand this winter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Walks off the bed We loved the weight of the fabric and the warmth of it even without being turned on. It was about 2-4 inches too narrow for a Queen bed with 2 bodies sleeping under it. But the real deal breaker was that it didn't play well with the other bedclothes. There is something about this fabric that caused the sheets to go one way under it, and the bedspread to go the other way... way far away, and right off the bed. It darn near caused a divorce, as my husband was sure I was pulling the covers off of him! Returned it within a week. Too bad. I was really excited to replace my old electric blanket with a much nicer one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible I brought a queen size mushrooms electric blanket December 2016 by March 2017 it did not get warm at all. A waist of money. They want me to pay to ship it back when I already paid once to have it shipped to me. As much money as Sunbeam make all returns should be free of charge. I would not recommend this product to anyone. My brother got one as a Christmas gift and his stop heating up as well he doesn't have proof of purchase cause his was a gift but I do have proof of purchase.
