A hearty stew with cubed beef, potatoes, carrots and celery.
1 lb. beef for stew, cut into 1" pieces
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
Vegetable cooking spray
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves, crushed
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 can (14 oz.) Beef Broth (1 3/4 cups)
2 cups baby carrots
2 medium potatoes, each cut into 6 wedges
- Coat beef with 1 tbsp. flour. Spray saucepot with vegetable cooking spray. Add beef and cook until browned.
- Add remaining flour, bay leaf, thyme, pepper and broth. Heat to a boil. Cover and cook over low heat 1 1/2 hr.
- Add carrots and potatoes. Cover and cook over low heat 30 min. or until done. Discard bay leaf.
