Entertaining for the holidays? Try the Cookie Streusel Topping to perk up a plain white or chocolate cake mix. Graham crackers or plain cookies may be used.
Ingredients:
2 cups cookie crumbs
1/4 cup chopped nuts, optional
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 cup melted margarine or butter
Directions:
- Mix above items and place 1/2 batter in prepared pan with 1/2 streusel on top.
- Add remaining batter and top with balance of streusel mixture.
- Extra streusel is great on ice cream or frozen yogurt.
- Double the cake recipe for a 9x13 pan.
