We all have a routine we perform before going to bed for the night. Maybe you like to rush through a few quick essential steps before hitting the hay, or maybe you prefer to take your time and prepare for bed like you're getting ready for a big event. Whatever you do in the final moments before bed, it's likely a routine you've perfected over the years, and it reveals a lot about your personality. Here's what your pre-slumber ritual says about you.

You take the phrase "beauty sleep" very seriously. You know the cells in your body repair themselves while you sleep, and you want to use that valuable time as efficiently as possible. Before bed, you might wash your face, apply some fancy lotions to promote youthful, glowing skin and slather on some fragrant oils that claim to make you more beautiful overnight. This doesn't necessarily mean you're vain - you're simply resourceful. When life gives you lemons, you squeeze them in your tea for their antioxidant properties. You likely take charge of most things in life and consider being proactive one of your greatest strengths.

For you, getting ready for bed is more of a mental process than a physical one. You use the final hours of the night to catch up on the day that passed. You're likely a busy individual who values intellect and productivity. Reading about the latest news helps you unwind for the evening. There aren't enough hours in the day to perform all of your responsibilities and still be in touch with what's going on in the world, so you use the moments before sleep to stay in the know.

Speedy Sleeper
If you view your bedtime routine as an obstacle between you and sleep, you're what's called a Speedy Sleeper. You perform the bare essentials, like brushing your teeth, washing your face and changing into your sweats, in record time. You're a minimalist who's strong in your convictions, and a good night's sleep is at the top of your priorities list. When the time comes to get to bed for the night, you don't want to do anything more than you have to - even if that means putting things off until the morning. Chances are that your mornings are somewhat hectic as a result, but that's fine with you. Good sleep trumps all.
