Over the next several weeks, you may be hosting friends, family members or holiday travelers looking to stay in a warm and welcoming environment. As your guests finalize their travel plans and prepare to venture to your neck of the woods, there are many preparations you can make to ensure your home is as inviting as possible.

Break out the fancy towels and the high-thread-count sheets because it's time to spruce up your living space and prep for your holiday guests.

Revamp Your Guest Room
If it's been a while since you've hosted a guest in your spare bedroom, go through with a duster and brush the dirt off those surfaces. To really wow your visiting loved ones, consider replacing your old bedding and stocking the room with blankets that are as warm as they are comfortable. Drape the Sunbeam® King Quilted Fleece Heated Blanket, Walnut, at the foot of the guest bed and let your guests cradle themselves in comfort as they sleep soundly through the night.

Bonus - Stock up on the Essentials: Want to really up your hostess game? Present your loved ones with a basket full of essentials they'll need when staying in the room. Since they're on vacation at your home, treat them with gifts that will help them relax, like fuzzy socks and sleep masks. If they're staying for an extended period of time, be sure to leave fresh sheets and pillowcases in the room so they can change them at their leisure.

Renovate the Guest Bath
Have you been looking for an excuse to make those much-needed renovations to your guest bathroom? Use the holiday season as an excuse to fix up your space. If you're not so sure you want to repaint the walls or retile the floors, opt for less extreme changes by purchasing a new shower curtain or floor mats that can bring a different pop of color to the room. Don't forget to stock the space with fresh towels, washcloths and soaps!

Bonus - Stock up on the Essentials: Soaps, shampoos and lotions are likely already found in your guest bathroom, but take your hosting skills to the next level by stocking the bathroom with your loved ones' favorite scented products. This may include bath beads, shower gels and scented scrubs that will keep your guests fresh and clean during their stay.
