Jarden Consumer Solutions (JCS) is providing this update to help you to resolve your issues with Petters Consumer Brands, LLC and/or MLO Appliance Company, LLC appliances sold under the Oster® or Sunbeam® trademarks. JCS owns the Oster® and Sunbeam® trademarks, and licensed these trademarks to Petters Consumer Brands, LLC which later changed its name to MLO Appliance Company, LLC.

JCS, as the licensor of the trademarks, did not design, manufacture, market, distribute or sell any licensed appliance manufactured by or on behalf of Petters Consumer Brands or MLO Appliance Company. JCS did not offer any warranty on the appliances manufactured by or on behalf of Petters Consumer Brands or MLO Appliance Company. Any warranty that applies to the appliance you purchased was offered by Petters Consumer Brands, LLC and/or MLO Appliance Company, LLC. JCS is not responsible for the appliances manufactured by or on behalf of Petters Consumer Brands and/or MLO Appliance Company bearing the licensed trademarks Oster® and Sunbeam®.

On September 10, 2008, JCS was notified that MLO Appliance Company, LLC was discontinuing its business operations, was insolvent, and had defaulted on its obligations to its secured lender.

Petters Consumer Brands, LLC and MLO Appliance Company, LLC were wholly owned and/or controlled by and/or affiliated with Petters Group Worldwide, LLC. Petters Group Worldwide, LLC, Petters Company, Inc. and certain other companies owned or controlled by Thomas Joseph Petters were placed into receivership by the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

To date, Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases have been filed for Petters Group Worldwide, LLC, Petters Company, Inc. and Petters Capital, Inc.

Although this is an unfortunate situation, you have options at this time that may assist you in resolving issues with appliances manufactured by Petters Consumer Brands, LLC and/or MLO Appliance Company, LLC.

You may return the appliance at issue to the retailer from which you purchased the product and inquire about assistance.

A.P Wagner formerly provided warranty-approved replacement parts for these appliances under an arrangement with Petters Consumer Brands, LLC and/or MLO Appliance Company, LLC. JCS believes Petters Group Worldwide, LLC and Petters Company, Inc. may be responsible for certain obligations of Petters Consumer Brands, LLC and MLO Appliance Company, LLC. Please be advised the receiver for Petters Group Worldwide, LLC and Petters Company, Inc. has indicated to JCS that he is processing billions of dollars in claims and other issues brought to his attention by hundreds (perhaps thousands) of concerned individuals and companies. The receiver has also indicated that a prompt response to all inquiries may not be possible. The receiver has also stated he disputes whether the companies under his receivership owe any legal duty to purchasers of the appliances manufactured by or on behalf of Petters Consumer Brands, LLC and/or MLO Appliance Company, LLC.
