This strudel-like pastry dough is easy to make and always gets a rave review from all who taste it.
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream, softened
Blend the ingredients with as little mixing as possible.
Roll out in a rectangular shape between 2 sheets of waxed paper sprinkled with 2 tablespoons flour.
Cut 1 apple finely and add 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (1 teaspoon cinnamon with balance of sugar).
Place the filling on the dough, roll up and make slits on top.
Bake at 450 degrees on a foil covered sheet for 20 minutes with open side down.
Other fruit like peaches or pears may be used.
Leave the fruit skin on as an extra source of fiber!
